To enter the '2GB School Aid Angels' competition, NSW students had to write a 30 second radio commercial script focusing on the issue of bullying / violence in schools and include solutions on how to tackle bullying from their perspective.

The '2GB School Aid Angels' competition based initiative was open to all primary and secondary school students in New South Wales, and School Aid called upon the whole school community to get involved in the vital initiative.

About the initiative...

The '2GB School Aid Angels' initiative aimed to help students raise awareness of the issues involved with bullying and violence in schools, and empower students to acknowledge the problem, get involved in the debate and find a solution to this unfortunately common problem in schools across Australia.  Students have a strong opportunity to reach out to their peers when it comes to tackling bullying, as statistics show that children who are bullied are more likely to tell their friends, before parents and teachers**.

The '2GB School Aid Angels' competition supported School Aid's mission of 'kids helping kids', empowering them to address the issues related to student bullying and violence in schools which can include physical injury, stress, intimidation, or feelings of being scared or alone, and the impact this has on their education and learning.
