“To the brave people of China and Burma,
The students of Bentley Park College wish to let you know that you are not forgotten. Your trials are being followed closely by millions of people in Australia, and many people care very much about every single one of you, young and old. You are not, and never will be, merely a number of casualties. Our government is doing all that it can to support you, because even though you do not live in our country, we are all equal as people , and we all deserve the same treatment..
Our thoughts are with you, and we hope that you never forget that your trials never go unwatched. From Ryan on behalf of Year 10 SOSE, Bentley Park College.” |

To the dear victims of the earthquake in China, a message of hope:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah
“Do not give up,
do not look down,
a brand new future
is coming around.
So when you're feeling gloomy,
or when you're feeling blue,
like all hope is lost
and there's nothing worth living to do,
just know that there are people here
who are always thinking of you.
So look on the bright side,
look forward to each day,
a brand new future is coming your way!”

We’re Thinking of You
I’m sorry to hear
You have lost your home
Your school, your shops
In an earthquake alone
The things that you owned
The things that you loved
Will be treasured forever
Of course in your heart
We’re thinking of you
Yes in every way
Remember there’s help
Never far away
If you’ve lost anyone
You’re never alone
Think of the good times
That were not long ago
Your town will be fixed
And so will your home
So keep in your mind
That there’s not long to go
Poem from Rachel, Grade 6 I
St Georges Road Primary School
Shepparton, Victoria |
Not Alone
We feel your sadness, but please keep hope.
For we will help, you’re not alone.
Someone is always caring,
And we know the suffering you are bearing.
You can break through darkness and sorrow and rebuild everything you have
lost.
Because you still have one thing that few have got.
Determination and something to make you stronger,
Even though you feel you can’t hold on much longer.
Every darkness has it’s shred of light,
We all know you will win this fight.
You’ve taught us all to treasure what we have and everyday is a start not an
end.
So don’t forget you’ll always have a friend.

The students of The Meridian International High School, Surry Hills, Sydney, have come together and created the following message of hope to all survivors of the Burma and China disasters.
"We, the students of The Meridian International School, Sydney, offer this message of condolence and hope to the victims of the China SzeChwan earthquake and Burma cyclone.
We know of your pain and grief because we were born on the same earth and all of us are in the same family. What’s more, some of the victims are actually the friends or relatives of us. We are so saturated by the terrible sense of loss and despair you must be feeling. We know by heart that what you have suffered is beyond our imagination.
However, you are not by yourself to struggle against nature. We are always with you. Humanitarian aid has been sent with the best wishes and support of Australian people and all the people around the world. Unfortunately, all the aid we have offered did help but meant nothing to the twenty thousands souls in heaven.
All we can do is keep the faith and look to the future. We shall treasure the memories of loved ones lost. We should live together in harmony by being honest and fair to each other. We will always cherish our life!" |
|
