Jetstar, Australia’s low fares airline, is proud to partner with SchoolAid in this unique program to foster positive change in school communities both here and abroad. The partnership is a terrific way to align Jetstar’s already established World Vision ‘StarKids’ program with SchoolAid which helps children to enjoy a brighter future in the Asian communities within the destinations that Jetstar services. SchoolAid works effectively to highlight the needs of these children and encourage Australian kids to lend their support. Through specific SchoolAid projects, Jetstar is committed to significantly benefiting these StarKids communities for many years to come. The SchoolAid partnership follows Jetstar’s incredibly successful Collect4Schools program, which encouraged schools to collect used Jetstar boarding passes, which were then exchanged for travel vouchers. The travel vouchers were either raffled off in school fundraisers, used to help school sports teams compete or given to families in need within the school community. As well as Jetstar’s philanthropic efforts, the airline is dedicated to educating school-aged children about the importance of considering the environment. In 2009, Jetstar donated thousands of pencil cases to Victorian schools made from recycled Jetstar advertising billboard ‘skins’, as part of Jetstar’s commitment to a sustainable future for all Australians.
