Read Messages of Hope

The recent cyclone in Burma and earthquake in China have torn apart the lives of many children and their families.  Schools across Australia sent in special messages of support for their Burmese and Chinese peers.  Burmese children have now started to receive messages from Australian kids.  Photos can be viewed on the Burma Emergency Appeal page.  The Messages for China have been recently sent off for translation.

Thousands of lives have been turned upside down by the devastation caused by Cyclone Nargis in Burma.  It will take many years for the lives of Burmese children to return to normality after this devastating event.

  • Around half of Australia's Indigenous children are not enrolled in preschool education

  • A commonly held belief in Bangladesh is that children from poor families are not able to succeed at school
