Why get involved with SchoolAid?

SchoolAid's programs fit into schools' existing community:

  • Part of the school's community service program;
  • A tangible way to demonstrate the school's values, and for students to receive real-time feedback on how their activities have made a difference in the lives of others;
  • A practical component of subjects such as SOSE, HSIE and Geography;
  • An activity to promote and encourage leadership by student groups.

How do schools benefit from involvement with SchoolAid?

  • Develop links with other SchoolAid schools and students across the country;
  • Increase understanding of diverse groups within the community and around the world;
  • Provide opportunities to share achievements via SchoolAid's online community;
  • Create a community of socially active citizens making a difference in the world;
  • Active groups provide positive role models for other students.

How do students benefit from involvement with SchoolAid?

  • Create networks with like-minded students around the country;
  • Develop strategic planning and organisational skills;
  • Learn to work cooperatively as part of a team;
  • Develop communication, problem solving and negotiation skills;
  • Turn their innate compassion and empathy for other children into tangible action.
